WEST LEYDEN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF '66 REUNION September 2011 Northlake, Illinois
I was unable to complete enough Class Reunion Patches in time for as many as showed up for this wonderful event (haha as if 9 months wasn't enough time duh). If you wanted a patch but weren't able to get one, or if you know someone who wants a patch, I will be making additional patches. Just email me your/their snail mail address and I will drop one in the mail when they are ready to go. I thoroughly enjoyed making these for my dear classmates.
Where it started for me on Thursday, September 22, 2011. The Old Grey Dog did a great job....I was very pleased with the service and accommodations!
Where I stayed. They did a wonderful job except for the missed 7am wake-up call on Saturday. But then it COULD have been sabotage by the classmates who wanted me to stay :)

In Memoriam - Classmates Lost but Not Forgotten
Spoken eloquently and from the heart by Robin (Ricci) Wardle at the Reunion Dinner-Dance on September24, 2011. How true these words are for all of us still!
"Bob Dylan said, 'Take care of your memories. For you can't relive them.'"
Memories - when it comes down to it, that's why we're all here tonight. We want to remember being young at West Leyden High School in the 60s. We rubbed shoulders in the halls. We talked and studied and danced and loved and had dreams of what we would be when we grew up. Now we are right here. All of that is behind us; in our hearts we are still young. . . bold, brash, and 17, but in our hearts we are 63 and we like it, I think, because now we've hopefully learned what really matters to us. We value our memories and our associations wit the people we've known during our lives. Especially those who have helped us be better.
For the next couple minutes while I read the names of our classmates who have passed on, think of them and what you remember about them, and, also, think about yourself and you have accomplished in your life and what you still want to accomplish -- as a tribute to them whose lives were cut short. We must always have old memories and young hopes."

For the "Then & Now" page that might just get me punched in the nose at the next Reunion (LOL) . . .
