In November 2003 I found myself in a funk...the 19th would have been my dad's 81st birthday had we not lost him early that year in May. I had heard about a group of women who got together for fun and frolic and their "signature" was the wearing of purple outfits and red hats. I searched online for the Red Hat Society to see if there happened to be any groups in my little corner of the world and VOILA, I found the Scarlett Sisterhood! I contacted Queen Jacky and she brilliantly persuaded me NOT to spend my dad's birthday by my sad self and join her and her "sisters" for an evening of good food and good company. So, that evening I went to supper with a group of women clad in purple and red who are now some of my dearest friends.

THE QUEEN'S EDICT
All Scarlett Sisterhood Red Hatters will wear a RED hat at all times when we meet. They will wear PURPLE, or an outfit that is predominately PURPLE. All pink hatters will wear a PINK hat at all times. They will wear LAVENDER, or an outfit that is predominately LAVENDER.
Now here's the fun part. Glitz your hat & outfit up with jewelry and accessories . . . the more the better!
